History

The Refuah Institute was founded in New York in 1994 by Dr. Rabbi Joshua H. Ritchie, M.D., as an Orthodox Jewish non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing education and services that promote wellbeing and harmonious relationships in accordance with Torah Hashkafa principles.

In 1996 the Refuah Institute established the Center for Crisis Counseling Hot-Line in Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

In 2001, the Refuah Institute moved its operations base to the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem and established the Refuah Institute Professional Coach Training Programs, graduating students with Diploma and Certification as Life Coaches.
